Donna Alley

With a long history in a broad range of musical genres, Donna first performed in a musical for Christchurch Operatic Society in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers in 1986.  Subsequent musicals include Aspects of Love, Crazy ‘bout Gershwin, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and, for Showbiz Christchurch, Chess in 1996.

While based in Auckland, Donna performed with Viva Voce, was the vocal leader of the Queen City Big Band and appeared with NBR NZ Opera in their productions of Die Fledermaus and Aida.  Other opera productions include Lakmé, La traviata and The Force of Destiny for Canterbury Opera, a guest artist performance as Dido in Canterbury Opera Youth’s production of Dido and Aeneas and as a soloist with the Solid Energy Ensemble of Southern Opera.

More recently, Donna has performed in numerous concerts with Atlas Voices, played Belinda in Noises Off for Canterbury Repertory Theatre, appeared in the role of Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera and as a soloist in An Evening of Rodgers and Hammerstein Classics and Broadway Hitmen for Showbiz Christchurch.
