Emily Burns

Emily graduated in 2014 from NASDA with a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Music Theatre).

She has performed in the Showbiz Christchurch productions of The Phantom of the Opera, and played Sophie Sheridan in Mamma Mia! and Eva Peron in the 2016 production of Evita.

Her other theatre credits include: Legally Blonde, The Musical, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Ladykillers and Little Red Riding Hood (The Court Theatre); Mary Poppins (The Court Theatre and Invercargill Musical Theatre); Spring Awakening (NASDA); The Last Five Years (Kindle Theatre); Into the Woods (Good Value Productions); Les Misérables and All Shook Up (Showbiz Queenstown); and also the Christchurch City Council tour of Crash Bash.

Other professional performance work includes singing the national anthem at various sporting events; backing vocals for Missy Higgins and The Lynch Mob’s Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon experience. Emily has been a special guest performer alongside well-known New Zealand singer Rob Guest.
