Liam Braithwaite

Liam has been involved in musical theatre from a young age. He took up voice training at high school and participated in the school’s award-winning male and mixed-voice choirs, competing in five Big Sing finales throughout New Zealand, at which each choir respectively won a Gold Award. He also competed in the New Zealand Aria competition in 2013 and came third in his age bracket, a placing he defended in 2014.

In 2016 he had the distinction of performing as part of the 150 voice Auckland Youth Choir at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in NYC. He has also performed in a number of theatre productions at high school culminating in the role of Tobias in Sweeney Todd. 

Liam moved from UC to the New Zealand Broadcasting School in 2018 to study towards a Bachelor of Broadcast Communications degree majoring in Screen and Television Production, and has continued his involvement as an active member of MUSOC.

His performance credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Blood Brothers, Sweeney Todd and Spring Awakening; and Wicked, Les Misérables and My Fair Lady (Showbiz Christchurch).
