Tara has an extensive performance career spanning the US, UK and NZ.

She studied Fine Arts at Southwest Texas State University, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Performance (Voice Major, Piano Minor).

Her performance credits in the US from 1990-95 include: Cinderella in In to the Woods, Cousi Hebe in HMS Pinafore, Antonia in Man of La Mancha, Music Man, as well as various recitals, short opera scenes and one-act operas. She was musical director on Charlie and Chocolate Factory, Really Rosie, Godspell, West Side Story, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Pirates of Penzance and Little Shop of Horrors at Island Lake Sports and Arts Centre Camp, New York.

In 2002 she performed in the UK in Oklahoma before coming to New Zealand.

Her New Zealand theatre credits include: The Phantom of the Opera, Evita, An Evening of Rodgers and Hammerstein ClassicsBroadway Hitmen (Showbiz Christchurch); and Footprints a bicultural opera in 2015 (Free Theatre).

She was a solo performer with the Artists and Doctors Orchestra from 2008-2018 and is currently a chorus member with NZ Opera, a performing member of The Opera Club and Atlas Voices Ensemble. All which she fits around a busy career as a neurological physiotherapist.
