Flying Solo - Vocal Masterclass
Showbiz Studios - 1:30 pm – 4:45 pm (with break at 3:10 pm)
In this master class workshop, 9 participants are individually coached and directed in a musical theatre song of their choice. There is a strong emphasis on developing performance craft, such as identifying and developing the inner monologue, the inspiration of the breath and how to engage at a deeper level with the story of the song and thus, with the audience.
Each masterclass session is 20 minutes long, and participants are encouraged to select a song that challenges them rather than one they have already mastered. It's essential for participants to provide sheet music in advance, as a pianist will be available (no backing tracks, please).
This session is equally beneficial for an observer, offering insights into the process of interpreting material, exploring effective storytelling through song, and developing skills in coaching individuals to achieve their full potential. As an observer, you are able to watch all masterclass sessions in full, gaining insight into how performers are guidedthrough their pieces.
Please note: There are only 9 spaces available for active participants, which will be allocated in the order registrations are received. There is no limit on observer attendance.
